Step 1: Preheat and Prep
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray, then lightly dust it with flour to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Ensure everything is evenly combined to avoid clumps in your batter.
Step 3: Combine the Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together:
1 cup milk
2 large eggs
½ cup melted unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
Mix until smooth and well-blended.
Step 4: Create the Batter
Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
Use a wooden spoon or spatula to gently mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
Step 5: Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl
In a small bowl, mix:
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
Set aside for layering.
Step 6: Layer the Batter and Swirl
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
Add the remaining batter, then top with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the layers together for a marbled effect.
Step 7: Bake to Perfection
Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
If the top starts to brown too quickly, loosely cover it with aluminum foil.
Step 8: Cool and Serve
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
